Description

When multicast mode is enable commands like

ping6 ff02::1%device

behaves unexpectedly.

The expected behavior (when multicast mode is disabled) is that every device that has IPv6 enabled replies to the request.
When the optimization is enabled the only device that reply are localhost and the device I'm directly connected to, thus the multicast icmp request is either not forwarded to the other nodes or the replies discarded.

Versions on which this problem occurs:
batman-adv: 2014.2.0
on OpenWRT Barrier Breaker, r44952

Hi David,

Multicast related issues were fixed in batman-adv 2014.4.0. Would you mind trying a newer version?

Cheers, Linus

I reported the news in libre-mesh users ML and asked for testing, I will hopefully try in some days myself
